Queen Bey made history as the first black woman to headline the music festival.
fter postponing her appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last year due to her pregnancy with twins Rumi and Sir Carter, Beyoncé finally debuted a history-making headlining performance on Saturday night. Rumors had swirled for weeks about what special surprises Bey had planned for her fans at the music festival, including that she would bring back Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a few of their 90s hits. “We have been working hard and have a special show planned for you so please be safe and stay hydrated,” Beyoncé posted to her Facebook page Saturday afternoon. “We need your energy!”
We can only hope her fans complied, because the lineup alone was mouthwatering; not only did Rowland and Williams make appearances, but Jay-Z and Solangetook the stage at various points as well, along with a fierce slate of backup dancers and a full marching band.
