Chuks Solomon the taxi driver that was molested by uniform men along Marian Road, Calabar municipality has been speaking on what led to his ordeal in the hands of the uniform people.
In a chat with Hit fm news, Chuks who is a graduate of banking and finance from the University of Calabar said he was tortured, stripped naked and his car vandalized because he refused to give money to the uniform men.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Calabar Municipality, Effefiong Nta-Eke, has made a cash donation of 550, 000 naira to the father of two following public outcries.
The donation is meant to assist the assaulted taxi driver get himself a new taxi, while the Chairman further assured that the culprits will be arrested and prosecuted.
However, the Country Director, Citizens Solution Network Richard Inoyo, has condemned the molestation of the taxi driver along Marian road on Wednesday.
Inoyo, who described the act as disturbing, said such barbaric acts should not be heard of in the 21st century. Richard Inoyo who charged the association of taxi drivers to come together and get a lawyer to defend the rights of their members when violated, also called on the Chairman, Calabar Municipal Council Efefiong Nta-Eke to rise up to the occasion and see that the victim gets justice.
