Indigenes of etono central in biase local government area of cross river state call have called for urgent help following a heavy rain storm that left several buildings and property destroyed on Tuesday night.
Sunday Emogor, Principal of Etono central secondary school in biase local government area, told our correspondent that the rain storm spared no part of the school and students will have no school to resume to if something is not done immediately.
The youth leader of Etono Central, Kanu Enene, who revealed that one child was severely affected after some parts of a building collapsed on her, added that the community will be thrown into severe poverty if they do not get help soon.
One of the victims lamented her ordeal.
CROSS RIVER GOVERNMENT COMMENCES SECURITY REGISTRATION OF ALL COMMERCIAL MOTORISTS.
Cross river state government has commenced security registration of all commercial motorists in the state.
This follows the outcome of the stakeholders meeting of cross river state transportation cluster with the office of the permanent secretary, special services, governor’s office Calabar, on security registration of commercials vehicles in the state.
A statement signed by the commissioner of transport Oqua Edet Oqua also noted that the enforcement will begin on 1st of May 2021 and all motorist are advised to do their security registration in the ministry of transport from April 8
The statement also added that failure to acquire the security registration will attract seizure of vehicle and fine inclusive.
CALM RESTORED IN AKWA IBOM STATE FOLLOWING OPERATION BY COMBINED TEAM OF MILITARY AND OTHER SECURITY AGENCIES.
Calm has been restored in Akwa Ibom State following an operation by a combined team of military and other Security Agencies.
The successful operation was carried out at Ntak Ikot Akpan where hoodlums and other criminals were flushed out following the unrest in the area.
A statement by the Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, said the operation was successfully executed and resulted in the dislodgement of the criminals while fleeing hoodlums were neutralized by the Air Component.
General Yerima urged members of the public not to panic but remain calm and continue to support the security agencies to further build on the successes achieved so far.

Mohammed Adamu has handed over to Usman Alkali Baba as the Acting Inspector General of Police.
Mohammed Adamu, the outgoing IGP, handed over to Baba on Tuesday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Earlier, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo decorated Usman Baba as the Acting IGP.
Baba, a Deputy Inspector-General of Police, was on Tuesday appointed as acting IGP by President, Muhammadu Buhari.
MORE FLEEING INMATES RETURN TO OWERRI CORRECTIONAL CENTRE, AFTER ATTACK BY UNKNOWN GUNMEN.
About 57 fleeing inmates have returned to Owerri Correctional Centre which was attacked in the early hours of Monday by unknown gunmen.
The National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Correctional Service told hit fm news, on Tuesday that 57 inmates had returned to the centre.
Recall that 1,884 inmates were freed when the gunmen struck the Correctional Centre and the Imo State Police Command headquarters in Owerri.
INEC DENIES HIRING INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS AS CONSULTANTS FOR STAFF RECRUITMENT.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied hiring individuals or groups as consultants for staff recruitment.
INEC Federal Commissioner for Voter Education and Publicity, Festus Okoye who denied this, urged members of the public to report to security agencies, individuals or group claiming to be consulting for the commission on recruitment of staff.
Okoye recalled that the commission had at least on two previous occasions in the last few months issued disclaimers on the matter of fake employment merchants.
