PRESIDENCY REACTS TO 2021 FIRST QUARTER GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT REPORT.

The Presidency has reacted to the Gross Domestic Product, GDP, 2021 first quarter Report released by the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, while giving updates on the Survival Fund.

The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Public Affairs, Ajuri Ngelale who revealed this to our correspondent on Monday, said the populace should be pleased with the GDP report.

Speaking on the Survival Fund status, Ngelale said the implementation of the 75 billion naira survival fund is in advanced stage, adding that payouts have been provided to thousands of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs across Nigeria.

TECH EXPERT APPLAUDS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON IME DECISION

An information and communication technology expert, Adebisi Foluso says the decision of the federal government to deploy the Device Management System (DMS) to protect subscribers should be applauded.

Recall that the Revised National Identity Policy for SIM Card Registration recently launched by President Muhammadu Buhari and uploaded on the NCC website revealed that it will capture International Mobile Equipment Identity, IMEI automatically.

Speaking on the development, Foluso said the decision which has met a lot of resistance is not a bad one, if the negative implications are weighed and minimized.

Foluso also dispelled fears that the IMEI could be used to witch-hunt people.
