85 days after kidnap, Comrade Ben Ukpepi, Chairman NLC CRS regains freedom

The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the release of the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in the State Comrade Ben Ukpepi, after 82 days in captivity.

The state police spokesman ASP Igri Ewa, made the confirmation in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Tuesday.

Ukpepi was kidnapped in front of his residence at the CROSPIL Estate, in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the state.

It was the second time the state NLC Chairman would be kidnapped.
