The Cross River Internal Revenue Service, CRIRS, has served some companies in Calabar a Notice of Non-compliance for failing to comply with their tax obligations to the state government as provided by the law.
Speaking during the exercise in Calabar on Tuesday, the Assistant Director and the Head of Tax Audit and Investigation, Cross River Internal Revenue Service, Felix Achu said the notice follows several years of tax audit on the companies, adding that they have seven days to rectify their liabilities.
Also speaking, Assistant Director Legal, Cross River Internal Revenue Service, Esirah Emmanuel explained the legal implications.
Some of the companies that were served the Notice of Non-compliance include Mambo Clinic, Prime Ultra-Sonics Medical Diagnostic Service, Nkrah Investment Limited, African Alliance Inc., Choice Stores, Naks Hotel, Petesville, NESS Hotel, Sweet Dreams Hotel and Carlcon Hotels Ltd, amongst others.
