The mother of a 7-year-old boy who was allegedly raped by a 27-year-old man, in Calabar, is crying out to the state government, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations and well-meaning individuals to help ensure that justice takes its course.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity, in Calabar, on Wednesday, she also raised concerns on the safety of children in the society.
The 7 year old victim also tried to explain how he got raped.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson, Child Protection Network, Cross River State and Principal Counsel Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, James Ibor who noted that he is already on the case, pledged to make sure that the child gets justice, while protecting the child’s identity.
While reacting in a telephone interview with our correspondent, Ibor, however, added that more collaborators are being mobilized to ensure the safety of children within the environment.
