The Greater Calabar City Development Authority has felicitated with Hit 95.9 FM on its sixth anniversary as the premier private urban radio station in Cross River State.

A statement signed and issued on Thursday, by the Director General of the agency, Kingsley Ikpeme commended the station for its contribution towards socio economic development and properly informing and entertaining the state.

While noting that the station has also projected the image of the state which has attracted investors and visitors alike, Ikpeme stated that the Agency is proud to identify with Hit Fm, and wished the station better days in service.             

Over one thousand kilograms of cooking gas have been distributed to cross-riverians by your Best Music, Best Talk radio station hit 95.9fm Calabar, in collaboration with One Gas Limited, for free.

Some recipients of the cooking gas, who spoke to our correspondent during the distribution on Thursday, expressed gratitude to hitfm and one gas for the gesture, while revealing the amount of gas they got.

Speaking to our correspondent the head of retail one gas limited Oyo Enebong said the partnership with Hit FM for the giveaway was a way of giving back to the society especially as the radio station is known for its philanthropic nature.

He also added that one gas is set to launch a home delivery service in the coming week.

Our correspondent reports that the Cooking Gas giveaway, one of the activities leading to Hit FM’s sixth anniversary, which was billed to hold for two days, was collapsed into one day, due to the massive turnout.
