Three suspected robbers were on Saturday, lynched separately, by angry mob at Old Odukpani Road in Ikot-Ansa, Calabar Municipality and at Mayne Avenue in Calabar South Local Government Area.

These happened simultaneously at the different locations within Cross River state, on Saturday morning.

An eyewitness said two young men were allegedly trying to rob a residential building on Saturday morning, when they were caught by the mobs, who immediately set them ablaze at Mayne Avenue.

Speaking to hitfm news on another occurrence, a resident of Ikot-Ansa, Benjamin Aniekan said residents woke up to find another suspected robber dead, after he was allegedly set ablaze by vigilantes in the area.

The respondent however called on relevant authorities to help evacuate the corpse to avoid possible environmental hazard.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Cross River State Command, SP Irene Ugbo, could not be immediately reached for an update, as the calls put across to her line were not taken.
