World Music Day: Hit FM Calabar Showcases Homegrown Acts with Open Mic Concert

Your Best Music, Best talk radio station, Hit 95.9 FM on Tuesday, 21st June, 2022, held the second edition of the Open Mic concert in commemoration of the World Music Day.

World Music Day is an annual music celebration that takes place on the 21st June, when citizens and residents are urged to play music outside in their neighborhoods, or in public spaces and parks.

Some home grown artistes, who spoke to our correspondent at the Open Mic Concert, in Calabar, expressed gratitude to your Best Music, Best Talk station – HitFM Calabar – for the opportunity for them to showcase their talent.

Also speaking, hit fm’s Head of Programmes and Production, Duke Emmanuel said the Open Mic Concert was designed to celebrate the world music day and have home grown artists showcase their talent.

Earlier, some musicians, including Afro-Hip-Hop artiste, Challex D Boss; Band Legato Leader, Daniel Ita; Singer, Zikey-Marz; and Western Southerner, Efi Cruise, while speaking in separate interviews with our correspondent revealed what music means to them.

The World Music Day Open Mic concert was streamed across all social media platforms (@hitfmcalabar) to a teeming audience globally.

The theme for the World Music Day 2022 was “Music on the intersections”.
