The University of Calabar, Unical, Monday, October 17th, 2022, resumed academic activities for fresh and returning students of the institution, following the suspension of the eight-month industrial action of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Florence Obi, who confirmed this while addressing journalists, on Monday, said the institution is set for the students with a view to catch up with the lost period of eight months, adding that the Unical Senate had a resolution not to victimize any student as a result of the strike by lecturers.
The Unical VC, who used the occasion to welcome lecturers, staff and students of the institution back on campus, also urged the students to be focused and dedicated to their studies.
Our correspondent reports that fresh students were spotted within campus on Monday, visiting some offices for their registration, while some final year students were busy with their final clearance at different points, as some lecturers visited their offices in preparation for academic activities.
