The Chairman, Keke Riders Association of Calabar Municipality, Joseph Essien, has frowned at the decision of the management of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, to ban Keke Riders from going beyond the Hospital’s gate.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent in Calabar on Tuesday, Essien said as a facility that offers humanitarian services, the UCTH is supposed to show it by considering the wellbeing of staff and patients.

The Tricycle Riders Chief further appealed to the management of the UCTH to have a rethink of their decision in the interest of the masses.

Also speaking, some patients, who lamented the decision and wondered why patients and staff were not consulted before the move was embarked, also called on the UCTH management to provide alternative means of transportation in order to ameliorate the plights of their patients.
