Hit FM can confirm that an unspecified number of people have been injured and houses burned in a communal clash between Ofatura and Ovonum communities in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State.
A source, who confirmed this to Hitfm News by means of Telephone at about 6:30pm on Thursday, said the land dispute ensued four days ago.
The source, who preferred anonymity, added that residents of both Ofatura and Ovonum communities are currently displaced and are taking refuge in nearby villages.
While noting that some youths barricaded the Calabar/Ikom Highway and left some commuters and travelers stranded for hours, the Respondent added that Soldiers arrived later and cleared the Highway.
